Retrospective
Osamu Tezuka special feature
We present a special feature on the works of Osamu Tezuka, widely known as the “God of Manga.”
Focusing on the dynamic relationship between anime, manga, and film, we look back on the achievements left behind by one of the founding figures of Japanese television animation.
Okawa Hiroshi Award, Fukiya Koji Award
The Okawa Hiroshi Award and the Fukiya Koji Award were established in 2023 to annually recognize the achievements of an animation production studio and a technical staff member, respectively, at this festival.
The awards are named in honor of Mr. Okawa Hiroshi, the first president of Toei Doga and Mr. Fukiya Koji, an illustrator and animation director. Both were born in Niigata.
