Niigata Animation Camp

The Niigata Animation Camp is a cutting-edge development program tailored for aspiring young directors, staff, and students in the realm of international animation. It provides participants with a rare and luxurious opportunity. The approved participants will have free access to the films and events and the travel expenses and accommodation in Niigata, Japan will be covered. They can also enjoy international relationships with peers, and attend daily master classes conducted by outstanding directors, staff, and critics from around the world at NIAFF 2024. The program aims to cultivate the next generation with a long-term perspective.

Schedule

March 15 -20, 2024
No. of Participants: 20 residents in Japan (regardless of nationality) and further 20 people living in East Asia*
* Mongolia, Korea, China, Taiwan, Philippines, Vietnam, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore

Eligibility:

17-29 year olds who aspire to work in animation of some kind in the future. See the Festival's website for application methods.

Contents:

1 master class per day*, free participation in FORUM projects, free viewing of films in the festival, exchange with festival guests.).

Funding:

travel expenses (up to 30,000 yen in Japan and 100,000 yen in East Asia), accommodation with breakfast (Niigata City Art Creation Village Yui Port), film festival pass.
