Introduction
There is a spirit in all things, and even though it cannot be seen by humans, it protects its master. Long ago, there were two treasures made from a single jewel: the Blue Umbrella and the Black Jade Sword. After a hundred years of war, the both Blue umbrella for the last princess of a doomed kingdom and the Black Jade Sword for the general were placed in the palace treasury. However, the spirit of the ‘Black Jade Sword’, Wangui, fled from the palace with the sword and set out to avenge the general. In order to prevent further bloodshed, the spirit of the ‘Blue Umbrella’, Qingdai, and the court treasure restorer, Moyang, head out on an adventure to bring Wangui back… .

Jie SHEN
Shen Jie is a Chinese animation director. He entered the animation industry in 2008, and in 2013 he joined the production studio Guton Animation, which produced the film ‘The Umbrella Girl: A Tale of Spirit’. He has worked as the art director for animated films such as ‘Crystal Sky of Yesterday (2018)’ and ‘Mr. Miao (2020)’.
