Kenji Iwaisawa, who has worked as an independent filmmaker, talks about how his major debut feature "100 Meters" was made at his own studio, ROCK'N ROLL MOUNTAIN Inc.—along with the behind-the-scenes process and his vision for the studio.

Speaker: Kenji Iwaisawa

Born in 1981 in Tokyo. After graduating from high school, he studied under director Teruo Ishii. He began his career in live-action film production while also creating animation on the side. In 2008, he completed his first animated work “Fukuraicho, Tunnel Roji no Otoko”. Since then, he has continued to produce short films mainly in animation, eventually spending seven years completing his feature-length animated film “On-Gaku: Our Sound”. His feature debut, “On-Gaku: Our Sound” received widespread acclaim both in Japan and abroad, including a nomination for the Annie Award—known as the Academy Awards of animation—and the Grand Prize at the Ottawa International Animation Festival, among numerous other honors.
