Shibuya Pilot Film Festival In Niigata

Pilot films are “the Essence of Filmmaking” or test footage created before a film enters full production. They serve as a concentrated expression of the filmmakers’ passion, bringing a project’s concept to life to make its appeal more tangible while also helping to secure funding and assemble a production team.

In this programme, we will showcase a selection of rare and valuable pilot films. Through screenings and talks by creators embarking on new film projects, audiences will get a unique insight into the creative process and the excitement of filmmaking.
