Introduction

Kenya, India, and Panama. Three women forced to become climate refugees due to drought and rising sea levels. Based on true stories, this animated film portrays their harsh realities as they journey in search of a future, resisting the barriers they face in foreign lands. [Japan premiere]

Director

David Baute

David Baute was born in the Canary Islands and has been making documentaries for over 20 years. In 2002, he directly addressed transsexuality with "Rosario Miranda". The filmmaker aims to recover the historical memory of the Canary Islands and has tackled one of the most pressing issues facing the archipelago: African migration.
This theme is present in films such as "Somos todos" (2003), "Crónica de un drama" (2006), and "Semillas que arrastra el mar" (2007).
Some of his recent works include "Ella(s)", a film that addresses male-female abuse by mixing reality and fiction, and "La Murga", in which Baute tells the story and role of popular music in different countries. In 2017, he released "Milagros", an observational documentary feature film about intellectual disability. "Éxodo Climático" won the Espiga Verde award at the Valladolid International Film Festival in 2021.
