Introduction
Thousands of years into the future, humanity has expanded into space, splitting into two great powers: the Galactic Empire, ruled by autocracy, and the Free Planets Alliance, governed by democracy. For over 150 years, these opposing systems have been locked in an unrelenting war, waged across the vast and boundless galaxy.
Both nations, long consumed by conflict, face internal decay. The Galactic Empire suffers from the corruption of its aristocratic elite, while the Free Planets Alliance grapples with the pitfalls of democracy, descending into the chaos of mob rule. Then, at the end of the Universal Calendar’s 8th century, the course of history is reshaped by the emergence of two extraordinary leaders: Reinhard von Lohengramm, the “Invincible Genius,” and Yang Wen-li, the “Magician Who Never Loses.” As commanders of the Imperial and Alliance forces, their destinies collide time and again on the battlefield.

Director
Shunsuke Tada
Shunsuke Tada began his career as a production manager before becoming a director. He made his directorial debut in 2006 with the OVA The Prince of Tennis: The National Tournament. His major works include Kuroko's Basketball and Starmyu. In the Ishiguro-directed version of Legend of the Galactic Heroes, he directed the third episode of the side story A Hundred Billion Stars, A Hundred Billion Lights.
