Introduction

The Iranian King gets an invitation to visit France. While visiting a “Romeo and Juliet” play in Paris, the actress catches his eye. He falls in love with her so deeply that he asks her to perform the same play in Tehran, so he can impress her and win her heart. Julie, the actress, decides to take this chance with the help of her friend Jamal. But she suddenly finds herself among jealous court ladies.

Director

Ashkan Rahgozar

The founder and chief executive of Hoorakhsh Studios, established in 2005 for 2D animation production. He directs many domestic products of Hoorakhsh Studios including short and feature animations, music videos, computer games, graphic novels and animated collections. His works have been nominated and awarded in numerous domestic and international festivals. Ashkan’s first animated feature “The Last Fiction” became the first Iranian animated film qualified for Oscars in 2020. His new film Juliet & the King start its journey to the festivals, Recently, his follow-up title “The Dragon’s Treasure” also made its way to the 2021 Annecy’s Mifa Pitches. Ashkan won first Fajr Film Festival trophy for animation movie in the history of this festival. Fajr is the most important Iranian film festival. Over the past 20 years, he and his team have been making the greatest animated films in Iran without government support and financial aid.
