Introduction
17-year old Aoi lives with her older sister Akane in a town in the mountains. They lost their parents in an accident thirteen years ago. Akane sacrificed her dreams to raise Aoi. Aoi feels an overwhelming sense of guilt for the burden her sister has carried.One day, Shinnosuke Kanemuro—Akane’s old flame and a man Aoi deeply admires for introducing her to the joy of music—returns as a backup musician for the guest band at a local music festival.

Tatsuyuki Nagai
Born on January 24, 1976, he has worked as a freelancer since entering the animation industry in 2000. He made his directorial debut with Honey and Clover II (2006) and gained widespread recognition for Toradora! (2008). In 2011, he won the Media Arts Category of the Art Selection Newcomer Award for Anohana: The Flower We Saw That Day, which was adapted into a film in 2013. His 2015 film The Anthem of the Heart was another major success.
