Introduction

The BONES 25: DREAMING FORWARD documentary — produced by French production company DeltaRocket for Crunchyroll — a four 24-minute episodes.

The series will explore the creation of Studio BONES, which has spent the past 25 years working on some of the most iconic anime out there, from the Cowboy Bebop: Knockin’ on Heaven’s Door anime film to Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, My Hero Academia and more.

Shot entirely in Japan, the four parts include “The History of Bones,” Style and Originality,” “Successful Adaptation” and “Metallic Rouge: The Future of Bones.” Over 30 personalities have been interviewed in the process, including president Masahiko Minami, Mob Psycho 100 author ONE, director Shinichiro Watanabe (Cowboy Bebop, Space Dandy), Bungo Stray Dogs creator Kafka Asagiri and Metallic Rouge staff members Motonobu Hori (director) and Yutaka Izubuchi (conceptual author and series composition writer).

Author and documentary filmmaker since 2005, with more than 40 documentaries, he explores global pop culture through his films, with a focus on sharing knowledge and fostering openness. Deeply passionate about Japan for many years, he wishes to continue exploring this fascinating country and its culture—whether in animation studios, alongside authors, or through the stories and legends of its history.

Having the great opportunity to create documentaries about legendary studio like Bones or about masterpieces like One Piece and Naruto is a dream come true, and he fully intends to continue exploring the incredible world of those who shape the imagination and the animation of today and tomorrow.
