Introduction

A captured alien is dragged into a high-tech detention facility and locked inside a containment chamber. As its consciousness is absorbed into the system, the machine floods its mind with a series of visual transmissions. Seven fractured stories drawn from other dimensions.
Each story reveals a glimpse of life beyond human control: mechanical rituals, primal instincts, and the quiet terror of evolution gone astray.
When the system falters, the alien’s digital nightmare becomes reality, and the boundaries between observation and experience collapse.
Animanomaly is a dark sci-fi anthology told through the eyes of a restrained witness, where every story is both experiment and warning.

Director

JORGE ENRIQUE BALDEÓN TRIANA

Ecuador | Born March 19, 1980

3D artist, animator and filmmaker whose career spans fine art, commercial production and independent narrative work. He holds a Bachelor of Technology in Graphic Design from ESPOL University (2004).

He co-founded RAMP02 Animation Studio (2005-2008) and later BOT Animation Studio (2010-2021), where he led character development and CG production pipelines. He also served as a 3D animation and modeling instructor at the University of Guayaquil and ESPOL University (2009-2011).

His early fine-art work was exhibited at the Municipal Museum of Guayaquil (2001), and his 3D artwork has been featured by 3dTotal, CGSociety, CGChannel and Autodesk’s The Area. His work was published in D’artiste Character Modeling: Digital Artists Masterclass (2005). Recognizing his digital art contributions, Autodesk named him Artist of the Month in December 2016 and Artist of the Year in 2017.

Transitioning into filmmaking, Jorge directed the sci-fi 3D animated short ANV (2022), which won Best Animation at Pause Film Festival and was selected for various festivals. His subsequent short film Sharp Dressed Ham (2023) received awards including at the Sci-Fi & Fantasy Film Festival.

In 2025 his animated short HEPT achieved major festival success: Official Selections at the Festival de l’Annecy (France) and Manchester Animation Film Festival; Winner of the Silver Award at Brooklyn Sci-Fi Film Festival; Winner at New York Sci-Fi & Horror Film Fest; Winner at CineYork Festival; Awarded Best 3D Animation at the New York Short Animation Festival; and selected for Vimeo Staff Pick. Additionally, HEPT was featured on the streaming platform DUST.

Jorge’s filmmaking style draws on his roots as a solo 3D artist—his films are built from character outward, combining bold visuals, sculptural detail and compelling motion. Operating under his label JEBCG, he continues to develop high-end independent animated work that bridges commercial-craft and auteur vision.
