「登山家マロリーがエベレスト初登頂を成し遂げたかもしれない」といういまだ未解決の謎。その謎が解明されれば歴史が変わることになる。カメラマンの深町誠はネパールで、何年も前に消息を絶った孤高のクライマー・羽生丈二が、マロリーの遺品と思われるカメラを手に去っていく姿を目撃。深町は、羽生を見つけ出しマロリーの謎を突き止めようと、羽生の人生の軌跡を追い始める。やがて二人の運命は交差し、不可能とされる冬季エベレスト南西壁無酸素単独登頂に挑むこととなる。
“Unsolved mystery: “”Mountaineer George Mallory’s first ascent of Everest””. If the mystery is solved, history will be changed. In Nepal, photographer Makoto Fukamachi witnessed the lone climber Joji Habu, who disappeared many years ago, walking away with a camera believed to be Mallory’s belongings. Makoto begins to follow the trajectory of Habu’s life in an attempt to find him and discover the mystery of Mallory. Eventually, their fates intersect and they set out to tackle an oxygen-free solo ascent of the Southwest Face of Mount Everest in winter, which is thought to be impossible.

映画監督、アニメーター。数多くのテレビシリーズに携わり、映画『アヴリルと奇妙な世界』、『くまのアーネストおじさんとセレスティーヌ』ではアニメーション監修を担当した。2018年には、『とてもいじわるなキツネと仲間たち』をバンジャマン・レネールと共同監督し、セザール賞にて長編アニメーション賞を受賞した。
"Patrick Imbert: Film director and animator. He has worked on numerous TV series and supervised the animation for the films 'April and the Extraordinary World (Original title: Avril et le monde truqué)' and 'Uncle Ernest of the Bear and Celestine' . He co-directed 'The Big Bad Fox and Other Tales' with Benjamin Renner, which won the César Award for Best Animated Feature Film in 2018.
