本作は日本・中国・ニュージランドのトップクリエイターが集結する4本からなるオムニバス映画プロジェクト“太素（TAISU）”の1作品。映画祭ではこのうち日本で制作された2本を上映する。
『カウボーイビバップ』、や『サムライチャンプルー』で世界に名を馳せる渡辺信一郎が物語の始まりを描く。アニメーション制作は『呪術廻戦』や『ユーリ!!! on ICE』のMAPPAが担当。
上映にあたっては 森田修平、 渡辺信一郎両監督による対談も行う。
This film is one of the four films in the omnibus film project “TAISU,” which brings together top creators from Japan, China, and New Zealand. The festival will screen two of these films produced in Japan.
Shinichiro Watanabe, internationally renowned for his work on “Cowboy Bebop” and “Samurai Champloo,” depicts the beginning of the story. The animation is produced by MAPPA, the animation studio behind “Jutsu Kaisen” and “Yuri! on ICE”.
On the occasion of the screening of the film, there will be a discussion between Shuhei Morita and Shinichiro Watanabe, the film’s directors.

荒れ果てた荒野を、ひとりの少女がさまよう。彼女は、記憶をなくしていた。この世界にはかつて、たくさんの人や動物や飛行機がいたという。でも、みんな消えてしまった。その理由を知りたくて、少女は旅に出る。そして、自分の作られた目的を忘れてしまったロボットと、「時間を超えることのできる石」を探している少年に出会う‥‥。
A girl wanders through a desolate wilderness. She has lost her memory. There used to be many people, animals, and airplanes in this world. But they all disappeared. The girl sets out on a journey to find out why. She meets a robot who has forgotten the purpose for which he was created, and a boy who is looking for a “stone that can transcend time”….

渡辺信一郎、日本のアニメ監督・演出家。世界的な人気で知られる『カウボーイビバップ』を筆頭に、『サムライチャンプルー』、『キャロル&チューズデイ』、『坂道のアポロン』など代表作は数え切れず。『アニマトリックス』や『ブレードランナー ブラックアウト2022』など国境を越えた取り組みも多い。
Shinichiro Watanabe, Japanese animation director and producer. His representative works include "Cowboy Bebop," known for its worldwide popularity, "Samurai Champloo," "Carol & Tuesday," "Apollo on the Hill," and countless others. He has also worked on many transnational efforts such as "The Animatrix" and "Blade Runner: Blackout 2022.
