誰もが誰かを想いひみつを胸に 優しく寄り添う
広島県呉に嫁いだすずは、夫・周作とその家族に囲まれて、新たな生活を始める。昭和19年、日本が戦争のただ中にあった頃だ。戦況が悪化し、生活は困難を極めるが、すずは工夫を重ね日々の暮らしを紡いでいく。
ある日、迷い込んだ遊郭でリンと出会う。境遇は異なるが呉で初めて出会った同世代の女性に心通わせていくすず。しかしその中で、夫・周作とリンとのつながりに気づいてしまう。だがすずは、それをそっと胸にしまい込む……。
昭和20年3月、軍港のあった呉は大規模な空襲に見舞われる。その日から空襲はたび重なり、すずも大切なものを失ってしまう。 そして、昭和20年の夏がやってくる――。
Suzu married into Kure in Hiroshima and started a new life with her husband Shusaku and his family. It was 1944, when Japan was in the middle of the war. The war situation worsened and life became extremely difficult, but Suzu managed to maintain a daily life with her ingenuity.
One day, she wandered into a licensed prostitution quarter and met Rin. Although their circumstances were different, Suzu felt a kinship with the first woman of her age she met in Kure. She realised something between her husband Shusaku and Rin. But Suzu quietly kept it to herself. ……
In March 1945, Kure, which had a military port, was hit by a massive air raid. From that day onwards, the bombing raids happened more and more frequently, and Suzu also lost precious things to her. Then came the summer of 1945.

Sunao Katabuchi
アニメーション映画監督。1960年生まれ。T Vシリーズ『名犬ラッシー』（96）で監督デビュー。代表作は長編アニメ映画『アリーテ姫』（01）『マイマイ新子と千年の魔法』（09）『この世界の片隅に』（16）など。
Sunao Katabuchi is an animation director born in 1960. He made his directorial debut with a TV series “Famous Dog Lassie” (1996). Some of his main works includes animated feature films “Princess Arete” (2001), “Mai Mai Miracle (2009), and “In This Corner of the World” (2016)
