Introduction作品紹介
物語の舞台は、いくつかの大戦を経て、つかの間の平和を手に入れた、今とよく似た時代。
かりそめの平和を実感する為に、人々は「ショーとしての戦争」を求めた。
現代を生きる私たちが、テレビを通して戦争を「観戦」するように。
戦闘機のパイロットとして戦うのは、《キルドレ》と呼ばれる子供たち。
彼らは年をとらない。思春期の姿のまま、永遠に生き続ける――空で死なないかぎりは。
The story takes place in a time similar to the present day, when people have achieved a fleeting peace after several world wars.
In order to feel a transient peace, people looked for ‘war as a show’.
It is as if we, who lead modern lives, “spectate” wars on television.
The combat pilots are teenagers, known as “Kildren.”
They do not age. They live forever in their adolescent form – as long as they don’t die in the sky.

アニメーションおよび実写映画の監督。 1977年タツノコプロ入社。『機動警察パトレイバー2 THE MOVIE』『GHOST IN THE SHELL / 攻殻機動隊』『イノセンス』（カンヌ国際コンペティション出品）『スカイ・クロラ The Sky Crawlers』などを監督。 自作ばかりでなく、海外を含めた多くのアニメーション映画の制作に携わっており、たとえばジェームズ・キャメロンも含め、国内外での豊富な制作経験をもつ。
Director of animated and fiction films. He joined Tatsunoko Production in 1977. He directed "Mobile Police Patlabor 2 the Movie", "Ghost in the Shell", "Innocence" (in competition at the Cannes Festival), "Sky Crawlers". He has worked on many animated films and has a great experience at the national and international level, with directors like James Cameron for example.
