Accreditation of ID Pass

The Categories of the Badges

The following types of ID passes are available, please apply for them accordingly.

  1. INDUSTRY Badge ─ ─ (JPY30,000 including tax per person) For those who are engaged in professional work in the film and video industry or related organisations.
  2. GUEST Badge ─ ─ (free of charge) For those who have been invited by the Festival.
  3. PRESS Badge* ─ ─ (free of charge) Media, writers, etc.  To be granted by the Office.

*Along with the application form, please send the following items for the press accreditation process:

  • Media materials
  • PDF or link URL of articles published under your name within the past year.

Press badges will be issued with the Office accredition. Subject to the screening.

The effective areas of the Badge

*Regardless of the categories, the Badge permit the entrance to the following performances.

  • All screenings and events at the Niigata Civic Plaza Hall and Crosspal Niigata: the films in the Competition and World Currents sections, including invited films, and various events. 177 seats at Civic Plaza and 45 seats Crosspal are reserved for the Badge holders. Additional screenings will be considered in case of over-demand. The general public may take any empty seats at the time of the opening of the film in the reserved area.
  • All programmes in the FORUM and the classrooms at the Faculty of Animation and Manga at Kaisi Professional University. Admission is on a first-come, first-served basis, including the general public (paying admission). When the room is full, the programme can be viewed on a monitor outside the room.
  • the 'Okawa-Buriya Award Ceremony will be held at the opening ceremony at Civic Plaza.
  • 170 ID Pass holders are entitled to a seat at the 'Competition Award Ceremony with Anime-song Live' to be held at Ryutopia on 22 March at 18:30 (tbc). Please pick up your seat reservation ticket in advance at the  “ID Pass Desk” at the Festival HQ Office.

Photo ID 

When applying, you need to attach a profile photo data of the registrant to be printed in the ID Badge. Please prepare data that meets the following requirements.

  • Bust photo (including head, neck and shoulders), facing front, taken within the last three months (The face photo data will only be used for issuing and managing ID passes and will not be used for any other purpose)
  • File format: JPEG
  • Please name the file with the applicant’s name with the file extension (.jpg). (Example: Smith-John.jpg) d. File size: 10 MB or less (data exceeding 10 MB will not be accepted).

Delivery of Badge

Pick up your Badge at the “ID Pass Desk” at the Festival HQ Office (in The Furumachi refuru 1F).

*If you made your hotel arrangements via the Festival website*, you can collect your ID pass, Festival catalogue, Festival bag and invitation to the Festival party from the ID reception desk at the Hotel Italiaken, Niigata, as well as at the check-in desk at your hotel.
